Clearwater Flyfishing
ABOUT

My name is Matthew Holden. I started flyfishing at an early age after being introduced to it by my dad and grew up fishing on the waters of The Western Cape. I'm a professionally qualified AAPGAI(Association of Advanced Professional Game Angling Instructors)single handed flycasting instuctor and have many years of guiding experience. I've fished for various species in both fresh and saltwater in South Africa, England, Scotland, Ireland, Wales, Spain, Italy, Austria, Iceland, The USA, Mexico and Belize.​ To me flyfishing is a passion and an art and I look forward to sharing it with you on a guided day or assisting you with some casting tuition.
​GUIDED FLYFISHING ​
Half day and full day guided flyfishing on The Elandspad and Smalblaar Rivers in Du Toitskloof or The Holsloot River in Stettynskloof near Rawsonville.
​
Experience flyfishing on these picturesque freestone rivers for beautiful wild rainbow trout.
Assistance with casting tuition if required and demonstration of effective flyfishing techniques, fly selection, knots, etc provided.

All tackle, lunch and fishing permit included. Wading boot hire available at half and full day rates.
​
Accommodation can be organised if you would like a few days of fishing, a tour of local wineries and other places you would like to visit.​​
​
Stillwater fishing can be arranged for one individual or groups.
​
Saltwater trips fishing off Cape Point and river mouth estuaries also available with a professional skipper/guide.​
FLYCASTING TUITION
​I offer single handed flycasting lessons at an hourly rate. Can teach new casts or help rectify bad casting habits. One to one or one to two tuition available. Beginner, intermediate and advanced levels catered for.​​​

​OTHER ACTIVITIES
​Tours of local wineries and other places of interest can be arranged. Botha, Badsberg, Deetlefs, Du Preez and Du Toitskloof are all wine farms within easy reach.
